The Beara Peninsula is rich with wedge tombs, which are
thousands of years old. Ring forts, martello towers, stone circles, ogham
stones, including the largest in the world. Many of these sites are open to the
public.

Allihies Copper Mines, Ballydonegan Beach was created by crashed
stone from the cooper mines.
Allihies is home to many of the famous artists, who live in the
Beara Peninsula

Dursey Island by cable-car is a walkers paradise offering
spectacular views in all directions. The cliffs at the far end of the island
are stunning. Up high on the hill top - Beara Way Walking Route is a martello
tower built in 1804.

The views from here are breathtaking. The island is well known for its
wildlife and bird watching, also for it whale and dolphin observation. |
